Gift Sakirai

Gift Sakirai was born in 1983 in Mutare, Zimbabwe and he has lived there for most of his life. He is a poet, writer and academic whose poems and short stories have been featured in both the print and electronic media courtesy of the Gourd of Consciousness poetry circle which he is a part of. He has contributed poems to Essential Verses, an anthology which was published by Essential Books Publishing Company and Zimbolicious 7: An anthology of Zimbabwean Literature and Arts which was published by Mwanaka Media and Publishing. His short stories were featured in the following anthologies Where Hope Lingers A Little Longer, The New Dance and Other Christmas Stories and As the Days Go By which were published by Essential Books Publishing Company. He has also published a novel entitled Alone. Presently, he is teaching English at a teacher training college in Mutare, Zimbabwe.
