Environmental Issues in Botswana

A Handbook

by Julius Atlhopheng, Chadzimula Molebatsi

There is a lack of materials on the environment in Botswana, and this handbook addresses that gap. In addition, environmental education is being incorporated into the education system in Botswana. The authors, all from the Department of Environmental Science at the University of Botswana, focus on the six issues identified in the National Conservation Strategy: pressure on water resources; range-lands pasture degradation; depletion of wood resources; overuse of veld products; and industrial/urban pollution. Conservation of wildlife is treated as an important issue also.
